When children experience the death of a loved one, they often feel alone. Although they may have a circle of friends, it's hard for them to open up to others who can't understand their grief. At the Healing Patch Children's Grief Program, grieving children and families have access to FREE services that allow them to share and find hope and healing.
At Family Sessions, families gather to share a meal and then break into age-specific groups. Facilitated by dedicated volunteers, the groups' activities and projects open the door for discussion. The Healing Patch is a safe place for children and adults to share, allowing families to forge a powerful bond for healing, empathy, and validation to the grief process.
In addition to Family Sessions, the Healing Patch offers in-school peer support groups, educational presentations for both children and professionals, and a comprehensive resource library for community access.
As Healing Patch services are offered at NO cost, the program relies on donations, grants, and fundraising events for support.
